The Suiderhof Dutch Reformed church undertook the 2500 kilometers round trip trek to bring a group of 28 people to do some community upliftment work as well as to share the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Khwe and Mbukushu people of the old military base compound at Omega in the Kavango East region of Namibia was the destination.

The group with Rev. Gerrit Theron in the Rundu Church building of the Dutch Reformed Church. Uncle Gerrit was a chaplain in the old South African Defence Force during the border war. He was instrumental in the 1st mission work for the Barakwena (Khwe) people that started off in 1974.
The Imanuel kindergarden at Omega needs a fence to keep the animals out and the children in. The Suiderhof group helped to plant the poles in preperation for the work by Worchester North Congregation that will errect the fence in two weeks time.
What better way to show that we love someone – We preach the gospel by touching somebody’s life with a gesture of love and kindness.
